In her work as a sculptress, Alexandra Valenti openly sides with that poetic approach which does not renounce the past, but rather takes it as a springboard for reframing the formal values characterizing the 19th and 20th century large – scale sculpture. Right from the start, Alexandra Valenti has conceived her research as a Ulysses – like journey of initiation towards the sources and models of the great sculpture of the past.

Adolescence is the metamorphic condition in which human beauty manifests itself as physical development takes place; yet it is also the moment in which the full existential potential of an individual is still latent, as the person dreams of his or her own life in the future. Adolescence, therefore, is a symbolic condition. Like art, it enables the externalization of latent possibilities, which manifest themselves and acquire form.
